I. Project Introduction

1. What Is 0G?
0G Chain is a blockchain specifically designed for AI applications. It employs an advanced modular design that clearly separates consensus from execution. This separation into independent, yet interconnected, layers is a cornerstone of 0G Chain's architecture, delivering enhanced flexibility and scalability.
* Consensus Layer: Dedicated to achieving network consensus. It manages validator coordination, block production, and ensures the overall security and finality of the chain.
* Execution Layer: Focused on state management. It handles the execution of smart contracts, transaction processing, and maintains compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM).
2. How Does OG Work?
The primary technical advantages of 0G include:
* Independent Upgradability: The execution layer can rapidly integrate new EVM features (such as EIP-4844, account abstraction, or novel opcodes) without altering the underlying consensus mechanism.
* Focused Optimization: Conversely, the consensus layer can be upgraded with key performance or security enhancements without impacting the EVM or ongoing execution processes.
* Accelerated Development: This decoupling allows for parallel development and faster two-layer iteration cycles, leading to quicker adoption of new technologies and improvements in performance and functionality.
Four key components of OG include:
0G Chain: A Layer 1 blockchain that brings on-chain gaming and AI to life.
0G Storage Network: A decentralized storage network optimized for massive data loads.
0G Compute Network: A multifunctional framework for AI computation, including rapid data retrieval, model inference/training, etc.
0G Data Availability (DA): An infinitely scalable and programmable data availability layer designed for high-performance chains.
3. Who Founded OG?
Michael Heinrich: Co-founder and CEO of 0G. He previously worked as a software engineer and technical product manager at Microsoft and SAP Labs, and worked on cutting-edge technologies in the Visual Studio team. Then, he transitioned to the business side, working at Bain & Company and later at Bridgewater Associates. In November 2024, 0G Labs announced a new funding round totaling $290 million, including a $40 million seed round and a $250 million token purchase commitment from the 0G Foundation. Investors in this round included Hack VC, Delphi Ventures, OKX Ventures, Samsung Next, Bankless Ventures, Yat Siu and Animoca, Blockchain Builders Fund, Awaken Finance, Dao5, Coinbureau, Santiago, Alchemy, Gumi, No Limits Holdings, Alumni Ventures, Master Ventures, Longhash, IBC, Polygon, Sandeep Nailwal, Deadalus, NGC, Nonce Classic, Kudasai, Blockdaemon, Adrian Cheng, Foresight, and LPs of Hack VC such as Blue Pool Capital, Bolts, Orange Dao, and Alliance Dao.
In March 2024, 0G Labs completed a $35 million pre-seed funding round, led by Hack VC, with participation from OKX Ventures, GSR, Animoca Brands, Arca, NGC Ventures, DWF Labs, Foresight Ventures, gumi Cryptos Capital, and Dispersion Capital.

Community Rewards: 13% — 20% unlocked at TGE; the remaining 80% unlocked quarterly over 48 months.
Ecosystem Growth: 28% — 49% unlocked at TGE; the remaining 51% unlocked over 24 months.

Supporters: 22% — 0% unlocked at TGE, 12 months cliff, 36 months vesting.
AI Alignment Nodes: 15% — 33.33% unlocked at TGE; the remaining 66.67% unlocked over 36 months.
