1. What Is Aster?

Aster is a next-generation decentralized exchange (DEX) formed through the merger of Astherus and APX Finance. It provides both perpetual futures and spot trading with an aim to offer crypto traders worldwide a one-stop on-chain trading platform.

2. How Does Aster Work?

Aster’s core products and key features are as follows:

1) Core Features: Perpetual Futures Trading + Spot Trading + USDF + EARN

1> Perpetual futures trading supports cryptocurrencies, stocks, and pre-launch assets;

2> Spot trading is supported.

3> USDF Stablecoin: It is a fully collateralized stablecoin issued by Aster, with custody services provided by Ceffu. Users can deposit USDT to mint USDF and receive Au airdrop points, obtain asUSDF by staking USDF and earn roughly 15% APY&Au points.

4> EARN: Users can deposit relevant assets to mint asBNB, asUSDF, ALP, asBTC, asCAKE, etc., and earn protocol revenue + Au points. The income comes from BNB-ecosystem yields (such as BNB launchpools, HODLer airdrops, and Megadrops), Au points, etc.

5> Aster Chain: Aster plans to develop a dedicated high-performance chain focused on derivatives to bring greater autonomy and scalability to the platform.

2) Two Trading Modes:

1> Simple Mode: On-chain, one-click and MEV-resistant perpetual futures trading, supporting leverage up to 1001×, suitable for beginners.

2> Pro Mode: Order-book style interface with advanced tools such as hidden orders, grid trading, low-fee strategies, multi-asset mode, etc.

In terms of financing, there is no detailed public record of all funding rounds. According to RootData, in November 2024, Aster received a strategic investment from YZi Labs.

4. Aster Tokenomics

Total supply of $ASTER: 8 billion tokens. Token allocation is as follows:

Airdrop: 53.5%. 8.8% will be released at TGE with the remainder released gradually over 80 months (subject to adjustments by protocol governance).

Ecosystem & Community: 30%. Eligible holders of $APX (those holding or staking APX in DAO) can convert $APX to $ASTER in a specified swap period. This allocation will be released linearly over 20 months.

Treasury: 7%, fully locked at TGE and only unlocked via governance-approved mechanisms.

Team: 5%, locked for 1 year and released linearly in 40 months.

Liquidity & Listing: 4.5%, fully unlocked at TGE.

5. Token Utility

$ASTER will be used for decentralized governance, driving growth, rewarding participation, and supporting long-term sustainability. To celebrate the official launch of $ASTER, a portion of protocol revenue will be used for $ASTER buy-backs: the Aster Foundation will allocate funds for long-term stable buy-backs; governance rewards will be distributed to incentivize participation in Aster’s decentralized governance system.
