1. Project Introduction
Waves is a decentralized, community-driven, open-source public blockchain designed for scalable and user-friendly application development. It avoids gas fees and uses a non-Turing complete smart contract language called Ride, which ensures predictability and safety. Waves employs a Proof-of-Stake consensus model, where block generation opportunities are proportionate to participants' economic stake, reducing incentives for malicious actors.
